Purpose

As part of our commitment to provide continuing education opportunities for health professionals in Alberta, the APHP can facilitate or provide:

• Outreach education based on an identified learning need specific to a health region or site providing perinatal health care services
• Support in planning education opportunities in regional sites through the provision of information or resources regarding current research, trends, statistics, best practice, and guidelines; through guidance for regional educators; and by linking resources through out the province.

Availability

Requests for perinatal outreach education (for anywhere in the province of Alberta) should be made by contacting Lori Kirkey at (780) 735-1000 or Kayla Gaigneur. One of the APHP education coordinators will contact you within 5 days of receipt of the request to clarify the request and discuss the details. Education sessions may be provided in person or via telehealth depending on the nature of the request and available resources.

Cost

Outreach education is provided by the APHP on a cost recovery basis. The details of travel and other related expenses are identified as part of the session planning with the education coordinator.
